California's Health Benefit Exchange, Covered California, offers numerous resources for Individuals and Families on its website.

CPCA is now part of the Covered California Community Outreach Network. Through work with the Network, CPCA looks to continue to provide great resources, including trainings and materials, as well as enhanced access to Covered CA. The Advocate's Guide to MAGI!: Coming Soon

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) established new rules for counting income and family size to determine eligibility for insurance affordability programs, including subsidized health insurance through the Marketplaces, Medicaid and CHIP. These new income counting rules, known as Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI), are applicable nationwide, are quite complex and differ significantly from prior Medicaid/CHIP rules.
