ABOUT

This annual event honors and champions the cause of “healthcare for all,” the driving value behind the model of care that health centers are carrying forward into the future of community health. CPCA provides this annual informative and empowering program for our membership, partners, and collaborators to enable attendees to learn from one another and honor those who have been instrumental through the year in addressing the healthcare concerns of California's more than 7 million health center patients.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

 
Thursday: Daniel Dawes
A trailblazer in the health equity movement, Daniel Dawes pioneered the political determinants of health framework. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President, Global Health and is the founding Dean of the School of Global Public Health at Meharry Medical College. The author of two groundbreaking works, 150 Years of ObamaCare and The Political Determinants of Health, he has been instrumental in developing landmark federal policies and serves on various advisory committees and boards focused on improving health outcomes and elevating health equity.
     
 
Friday: Baratunde Thurston
Baratunde Thurston is an Emmy-nominated, multi platform storyteller and producer operating at the intersection of race, tech, democracy, and climate. He is the host of the PBS television series America Outdoors with Baratunde Thurston, creator and host of How To Citizen with Baratunde, which Apple named one of its favorite podcasts of 2020, and a founding partner of the new media startup Puck. Most recently, Thurston was featured in the Hulu original series, Black Twitter: A People's History.
